Name Change Confidentiality

I would like to change my name and the name of my child. How can I keep our name changes confidential, so that no private individual can find out? I would like to keep an my abusive father from being able to locate us.

If you do not work through the courts, you cannot legally do this. You should speak with counsel to discuss and then decide what to do.
