Legal Question in Family Law in California

my child custody order states that the mother shall arrange lawful transportation at the beginning of her period of care, custody and control of the the child and it states the father shall arrange lawful transportation at the ending of his period of care, custody, and control of the child. I am confused. The way I read it it sounds that I am too pick up my son once his visitation with the father is completed but I am not sure what the father is to do? It says the ending which would be my beginning. Can you clarify this for me? Thank you. Ashley Riess

You're completely right. This is a drafting error. It should say beginning and beginning or end and end. Right now you're both responsible for transportation when your time starts, and no one is responsible at the end. Most people would just ignor this and agree one way or the other. If your ex is a "problem," however, you can either file a stipulated modification to the order to correct the mistake, or if he is really a problem, you can go back to court and ask for a modification.
