Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child Custody Question

Hello,

I have a 3.5 year old son that I'm looking to get more than two days a week I currently have him. My sons mom and I weren't married, and haven't gone to court for custody just child support. I currently pay $583.00 a month which includes half the daycare. I own a small business which grosses about $140,000 a year, but only nets about $30,000 a year. My sons mom makes things very difficult, and I just want to get my son as much as possible and get it in writing thru the courts. BUT my fear is I will end up paying more than $583.00 a month due to my gross income which I can't afford to do. Any advice you may have would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Child Custody Question

You should consult with an attorney and run the dissomaster to determine the probable outcome if you go to trial. This program is also available at the local family law court for public use.
