child molestation

someone in the family has been charged with child molestation. This happened 6 years ago. the accused is now a father of 2.He is living a good responsible life. what will happen to his own children?Will they be taken from him?Will he be on a preditors list and not allowed to live in areas with children? What are the rights of the family. Can this be resolved other than court? These are all family members involved. A very worried Grandma
