child support

The dA is collecting child support for me. I need to know how interest is calculated on arrearages. Also, am I entitled to receive that or does the DA keep that/

Re: child support

Interest is computed on the amount of the unpaid child support. The interest rate is 10% per year. Who receives the interest depends upon who the support is owed to. If you have received AFDC then the county receives interest on the amount the county is owed. You shuld receive the remainder of the interest. The child support collection service is provided at no cost to you.
