Legal Question in Family Law in California

CLose an open divorce case

I am the respondant in a Divorce case thas was filed a few year ago. I am not able to get a final resolution,due to the petitioner's missing paperwork. I am not able to find the petitioner. Is there any way I can get this case closed and refile in the county I live in. the case currently is in ElDorado couny and I live in Sacramento County.

In a general sense, as the Respondent, you can not dismiss the case without filing, serving and prevailign in a motion to dismiss for lack of prosecution or some other legal theory.
