Legal Question in Family Law in California

Consent from both parents

In order for my son to shoot a rifle, does he need written permission from both parents if there is joint custody? My x husband bought my son a rifle and is going to let him shoot it. I had no say in the matter, and I feel that I should have, since there is joint custody.

Re: Consent from both parents

As a rule while a child is with one parent that parent is responsible for what the child does as long as it it legal. You would need to go to court for an order to stop this and you would need a good reason. Each case is different.
