When a case is taken under submission the judge needs to read the file and consider all the evidence presented. The judge will make a written ruling. Most likely because your hearing presented some complicated issues for him to consider and they wanted to ensure they were legally correct in their decision. You should expect an answer within 60 days of the hearing typically. Judges usually make decisions quicker than that though, but 30 days is not unheard of to hear an answer through the mail of the courts order.

For self represented individuals you can consult with the family law facilitator self help center at your local court house.

As always please consult a local attorney prior to taking legal action. Good luck. Also please check out my Santa Clara County Family Lawyer blog.
