Legal Question in Family Law in California

Divorce/Annulment

I was served with divorce papers by my husband on September 23, 2008. Irreconcilable differences and he requested spousal support. My attorney responded on October 23, 2008. My response was that he was a bigamous and never properly divorced his first wife. My husband's attorney gave him the news but he has not responded. Is there a time frame for him to respond? Or is there something I can do to speed up the divorce/annulment? As usual he never follows through or takes care of business.

Re: Divorce/Annulment

Your attorney could file a motion to determine the validity of the marriage. The answer to that question will determine the next step in the process.
