Legal Question in Family Law in California

Divorcing in California after being married Abroad

I am a US Citizen who married my wife 5 years ago and brought her to live in CA where we have been residing since 2003 . We are now seeking a divorce. My question is: Can I file for the divorce here in California or is it neccesary for me to file for it in that country? Or do I have to file in both places? Please advise.

You can file in California. All that is required is that you meet California residency requirements. That is reside in the state for 6 months and the the county in which you file the petition for 90 days.
