Legal Question in Family Law in California

My father is 95 and has sufficient funds for a few years? He has sold his house at a

very low price which may hurt his long term financial well being and stay in his current

assisted living home.

My question : Am I legally responsible to help him financially if he runs out of money?

Yes. Except as otherwise provided by law, an adult child shall, to

the extent of his or her ability, support a parent who is in need

and unable to maintain himself or herself by work.
