Can I file a continuance for filing respondent divorce papers? During the 30 day response window I attended court with a restraining order (physical abuse) against my estranged husband. It was extended for a year. I work full time and concentrated on the restraining order during this time.

If your husband is represented by an attorney, they should be willing to give you the courtesy of an extension to respond. If no attorney or if he/she is a jerk, you'll have to file an ex parte application to extend the time to respond.
