Legal Question in Family Law in California

Filed for Divorce

I filed for divorce 2.5 years ago. I didn't serve my husband the papers. I want to do so now. Will the filing be too old to serve? Do I pick up the papers at the Superior Court building? Will the base filing still be valid even if the terms associated with it have changed?
