Legal Question in Family Law in California

I filed all of the papers for my divorce, I had my husband served and I filed the proof of service with the court. What do I do next?

Wait 30 days to see if he files a responsive pleading. If not, you take his default. If he responds, there is no "one size fits all" answer for what to do next. It depends on the case. I recommend you pick up a copy of "How to Do Your Own Divorce in California" by Nolo Press. It's the best self-help book on the subject that I've seen.
