Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am filing for a divorce with my wife. My wife and I bought the house together and I am still paying the mortgage. Where can I find out all the liens on our house? If my wife has a Federal tax lien on the house and it was paid in full. How can I find out if the lien is lifted? My wife does not communicate with me on the issue.

You can go down to the county recorder's office and look up the title records for the property, or you can pay a title company to do it for you.

As Mr. McCormick states, that is pretty much it. I don't know about San Francisco, but some counties have grantor grantee indexes online and some recorder's offices can be very helpful in showing you how to search for the information.
