Legal Question in Family Law in California

Guardianship

I am a grandmother who has cared for my grandchildren for the better part of their lives. They ae now being used emotionally abused . Can you tell me what my rights are. the boy lived with me for the past 5 years and his father moved out on Feb 1 and did not take him or have a conversation with him. Now he took him to his mothers who does not have physical custody. The children have been in court off and on for 13 years. the boy is doding well in school and plays football, goes to school at 6:10 in the morning and mentors younger players after school. the father has not been a part of his school enrollment for the past two years. the father has four children with three mothers and is now with a young woman who has his new baby and does not really want the children. If they stay with the mother they will have to leave their school and home town and move to an are that is not so great. they both want to live with me.
