Legal Question in Family Law in California

guardianship

my grandson was sent here from wisc. we are willing to raise

him, his mother died. we have no legal papers, father

co operating well. does not want child. where can we get forms in calif for guardianship. what agency etc. may have

forms that we can send to if necessary to get this done.

See an attorney for this--it will certainly make the process smoother. If you wish to do it yourself, call the local court, as they often have a packet of the forms you'll need, and also check your library for self-help books on the subject--if Nolo Press has a book, theirs will likely be the best.

If the father cooperates, the process should be fairly simple, with a petition to the court, a hearing, and a court order granting you guardianship.
