Legal Question in Family Law in California

Legal Ethics and Liability

Family Law matter 2002. Ex awarded temp. custody- emergency ex parte.

Hired an atty., did not enter in as atty. of record, though he took my money, didn't show up to court, file any motions, after it was all said and done and my ex got everything he asked for, atty. send me a check with a ''waiver' on the back that ''by signing the check I do not hold him responsible for any and all liability''.(Have copies)

Though against court orders had many unsupervised 2003-2005. Had an argument visits ended Nov. 2005

Feb 2007 filed OSC for unsupervised, hired atty in May. Little to no contact, won't return phone calls, and (both parties attys...I am strongly assuming mutually agreed betw. attys of record to no show to court. Case dismissed. Got tapdance from atty. 7 days before the next ''scheduled'' court date(almost 2 mo. later) told about this. 8 months of work, many many flights to California(I live in Oklahoma), and wasted time and effort. I want to sue both attys for damages. Due to the first no show I lost physical and legal custody. Damage was done due to Atty #1 negligence. At the very least I need a ACCOUNTABLE Family Law Atty who possibly can at least handle the barr and arbitration to set the record straight.
