Re: Marriage Anullment Process

YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE A PROPER BASIS FOR SEEKING AN ANNULMENT SUCH AS FRAUD, MENTAL/PHYSICAL INCAPACITY, PREVIOUSLY MARRIED, . . . FOR OBTAINING AN ANNULMENT. IF YOU NEED AN ATTORNEY TO ASSIST YOU AND YOU ARE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA YOU MAY CALL MY OFFICE FOR A FREE INITIAL CONSULTATION AT 310-839-7700.

Re: Marriage Anullment Process

The process is exactly the same as that of a divorce--including the 6 month waiting period! In order to qualify for an annulment. You also have to qualify under the residency requirement of living here 6 months and 3 months in the county where the action will be filed. It's tough to prove you've got grounds for an annulment unless it turns out you're already married to someone else, or the person you married turns out to be a close relative. Bad news, I know. If you want to e-mail me with the specific circumstances, I can tell you if you qualify for an annulment. Just being married only 3 weeks is not enough to qualify, unfortunately. On the other hand, a church annulment is another thing. For that you'd have to speak with your clergy. Many people qualify for religious annulments even though they're legally divorced. Good luck!
