Legal Question in Family Law in California

marriage liscense ''is it void''

We picked up our marriage liscense in San Joaquin County, but got married in Stanislaus County. Does that mean our marriage liscense is void because we did not get married in the same county our marriage is from?

Re: marriage liscense ''is it void''

I did some research on the requirements for a valid marriage. I do not recall any requirement that the marriage be performed in the county in which the certificate is issued. The requirements as best as I can recall are 1. a valid marriage certificate; 2. the marriage is solomenized by an individual that is accepted by the state of California, most ministers, judges etc; 3. that after the marriage is solomenized that the certificate is recorded with the county clerk. It will probably have to be registered with county clerk where it was issued.
