marriage

I am 65 and thinking about getting married. He has debts that he owes. Am I responsible for anything of his or do I need a prenup

You should carefully consider whether you want to be paying for those debts during the marriage and how that will affect your standard of living. Having a prenup for second time married couples is not a bad idea if you want to keep your property and debts separate.

You're not responsibility for his separate debts (debts he incurred prior to the marriage). You might want to keep all of your assets separate. A prenup and legal counsel might be a real good idea.
