Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am married 15 years now I have five children, all under 15 years old. my husband is in a wheelchair, our marriage is falling apart, if we get a divorce, will I (thewife) get custody of our children, I am a displaced housewife, I am having a hard time finding a job due to lack of receintexperience..also 4 of our children are adopted, so I do need the aap income to be able to rent a place, my husband gets his ssi so we both get about the same equal amount seperatly. I need to know that because he is handicap, will he get that extra income?? .. when we talk about it he is telling me he will keep the kids and their income,, leaving me with nothing.... help!!!! sincerely, michelle

More facts would be needed for an opinion about who will likely obtain custody, but the best interests of the children will be used to determine which parent is the primary custodial parent, absent an agreement between the parents. The parent with primary custody will then be entitled to receive any benefits payable for the children.
