molesting

my granddaughter has accused my son of molesting her approx. a year ago. she was 8 he was 17. he has moved to another state and when my wife arrived at the airport from helping him my daughter called and told us this. there is alot more to the story but as it stands as of now what do we do? he is more than willing to come back and get this straightened out because they went to their priest about it and of course he had to report it. now what? there are so many descreptonies in my granddaughters story along with other people in that household that i am at a loss of where to turn

You should immediately retain an attorney tor represent your son in this matter. He faces a potential prison sentence and having to register as a sex offender. He should not discuss this matter with anyone, except his attorney and priest, including parents and siblings. If your son is arrested he should only give his name and request to have an attorney present if there will be any questioning. If your son feels the need to discuss the matter he should do so with his priest or attorney. No matter what the police say they are looking for a way to convict him as a molester.
