Legal Question in Family Law in California

I moved with my son to Oregon with permission from the CA courts in Oct. 2005. My son is 7.5 yrs old and has spend most of his life in Oregon. I need to officially ask the CA court to change jurisdiction to Oregon. My sons father uses the court system as a way to bully me into agreeing to his unreasonable demands. Telling me he will take me to court if I don't agree, though the judge always sides with me during this hearings thus far, it is a tremendous strain on myself and my kids to be taken from school for days at a time to stay in my friends 1 bed apartment, not to mention the financial strain of driving down at the last second, usually with only a week or so notice. He uses the court system as a weapon to force me to agree because he knows how hard it is on myself and my kids to be forced to court with no notice down there just to have a judge order what I was requesting in the first place. I have turned in a jurisdiction act form to the California court, but I need to know how to ask for a change of jurisdiction and a file transfer. Can someone help me before he puts us through this again. We have been to court every year since I have moved. He is relentless.

Just go to the court in Oregon and register your judgment. You will need a certified copy of teh judgment. there should be a family law advice person who can tell you how to proceed from there. Just do not tell anyone you are doing it until it is a done deal, so your ex will not try to stop it. he will have to be served and will learn about it then. Try not to engage with him. You should then be fine, as he will have to pay to fight in Oregon. Good luck!
