Legal Question in Family Law in California

power of attorney, divorce & step-child

my father suffered several massive strokes and is semi-comatose. 1)how do i go about gaining access to take care of his biz, bills & etc? -- which is better power of attorney or conservatorship? & he was preparing a POA but never got it notarized or filed but it is filled out

2)i am 22 & just found out that he is my stepfather a few years ago & he never ''legally'' adopted me although lived with him for 21+ yrs & listed as my father on all legal doc ie taxes, school etc -- will that be a prob? 3)he & my mom made an irrevocable will while married but got divorced a few yrs ago -- is the will void or still valid? 4)dont have much money bc i'm a broke college student & wondering if there is any low cost or free legal services available in the los angeles area?

any advice would be greatly appreciate. thank you!!!!!!!
