Legal Question in Family Law in California

Schools District

My Ex. and I have 50/50 custody, with alternate holidays. One week with me the other with her mother. Our 10 year old daughter is very intrested in school, and does well, scores high on tests, and gets student of the month. I want to place her at a higher API school, which happens to be closer to my house. At this time my daughter attends a middle school closer to her mothers house(2 blocks away). We have talked about this issue but no really answer was given by her part. It sounds like she does not want to place our daughter at a school near me, because it would be a ''DRIVE'' for her, which is 30min drive from her place to mine, with some traffic. On the other hand I have to take her to school and take 2 freeways every morning the week she is with me.

Is there anything that I can do to have her go to a better school district. It really sounds to me that she is not looking out for our childs best intrest, and only concern with the ''Drive''. Is there anything that I could do or file, so that our child gets a chance at a better education?

Re: Schools District

It is probably best for your daughter that the two of you don't fight. She'll do well in whatever school she goes to. If you insist on pursuing the issue file an osc for legal custody over the limited issue of school choice.
