Legal Question in Family Law in California

i have been served with a demand for documents, but some of the requests are for documents that the asking party already has in their possesion, or has access to it from the court, do i have to produce requested documents or can i respond by simply saying "you already have these documents" and refer to his interragotory question where he refers to requested document ?

You need to look up the Code of Civil Procedure sections 2031.210 to 2031.320. There you will find the permitted responses to a request for production of documents and all other provisions governing responses.
