not showing up for court date

What happens if you don't show up to your court date? Are you held in contempt of court?

It depends. Is the other side going to show up? If so, you'll probably lose. If not it will probably be taken off calendar.

You will be in contempt if the Judge ordered you to appear for the hearing and you failed to do so.
