Legal Question in Family Law in California

I have sole physical custody of my child and share joint legal custody with the other parent. The court order reads: Legal custody shall be held by both parents, both parents shall share information, the right to make major decisions regarding education, both parents shall have access to the child's school records. Does this give the other parent the right to go to the childs school and volunteer or observe the classroom? Do I have to put the other parent on the school records as an emergency contact?

Mr. McCormick is absolutely correct. Generally the language used is something similar too: shall share joint legal custody regarding the health, education and welfare of the child. Yes, the other parent is entitled to a copy of the child's school records, grades, report cards and everything else that goes along with school records. Yes, the other parent can volunteer to be one of the parents in class room. Finally Yes, the other parent should be the other emergency contact person.

Good luck
