stopping child support

my ex wife and kids live in california i live in texas im paying $463.60 every month in child support. My ex-wife doesnt recieve all the amount only $50.00 she recieves food stamps and welfare. she recieves approx. 185.00 in food stamps and $ 225.00 in welfare money and $50.00 in child support check. We both agreed to stop this garnishment from my check of $463.60 and agreed for me to send her the money by money orders or checks by me. Is this possible if so how can we get started. I told here to call her social worker to stop financial aid only but continue to recieve food stamps is this possible? How can i do this

Re: stopping child support

You can't. She is reveiving $460 in benefits from the state. The county pays her the benefits she qualifies for. Then collects child support from you. If the amount collected is greater than the amount that you pay she gets nothing. If the amount she pays exceeds her grant she get the difference, in this case $50.
