If you're trying to find out whether someone has filed a case, it would be helpful to know what county it's in. Every county deals with things differently, and as such, if you don't have a case number and/or the name of the plaintiff and defendant in the case, I would go to the courthouse clerk's office in the county you want, or call them on the phone, and ask them what you've just asked us.

If by name, best way is to go to one of the superior court houses and check the computer. If by case number, you can look online at the superior court website. Good luck!

Depending on which jurisdiction and court you are referring to, there are a variety of ways to obtain court information. You can go down to the court, check the website, or call the clerk.
