if i quit paying alimony after 11 years because i can no longer afford to pay because of health, what can be done?

You should get the previous order or agreement modified. Do not just stop paying....you will be in contempt of the existing court order.

The unpaid alimony will continue to accrue and will result in a large debt against you. This debt will never go away and cannot be discharged in bankruptcy.
