Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Dog Bite Dog Liability

At a dog park, my dog did damage to another dog. My dog was not the aggressor and was half the size of the other dog. Neither dog was leashed. Am I resposible for any damages caused by my dog (stitched ear)?

Re: Dog Bite Dog Liability

Yours is a case of simple negligence. Here is the important question: Did YOUR conduct do anything to create an unreasonably dangerous condition?

From the limited facts you've given me, it sounds as though you were not negligent.

Ask the question in a different way. Would a reasonable person in your shoes have done anything differently that would have prevented the injury?

If the answer is 'no' then you were probably not negligent.

Regards,

Ben
