Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Judgement Collection Attorney

THANK YOU to Atty Cohen from SF for giving me some hope. Now, is there an Judgement Collection Attorney out there that wants to respond? I think my in-laws would want someone from their area Madera, CA. They have a judgement but no money to hire someone to research and collect the money/property awarded. And, it's wierd that their current atty hasn't said anything about a collection type atty??? The fraud took place in Madera, CA but the defendant (daughter) lives in Long Beach, CA. The court proceedings were in Madera as well. Is it more logical to have an attorney from the plaintiffs area or the defendant that you're going after? Thanks again Atty Cohen your additional help would be appreciated!

Re: Judgement Collection Attorney

Collection attorneys are usually State by State, not locality. For example, I collect in Nevada and California. Where the debtor is located may be optimal but not necessary. If you know about the debtor's assets or earnings, then something can be done. Otherwise, monitoring them, calendaring renewing judgement, and similar actions are all that can be done.
