Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Lost and found item stolen

We left our video bag with camera and camcorder at our childs sports field. The items were turned into the ''lost and found'' at the snack shack located at the sports field. We taled to the person who discribed our equipment and they told us they turned the equipment into the snack shack. The person running the snack shack amitted to us the equipment was turned into them. When we tried to claim the equipment it was gone. The snack shack attendent now has changed her story a couple of times. They do not know what happen to the equipment. Do they have any responsibily? Would we turn it into our home owners insurance or the sport league's insurance? Thanks

Re: Lost and found item stolen

File a report with the snack shack insurance co. and to be on the safe, to avoid a claim of failure to timely report, notify your home owener's policy that you have filed a claim with the snack shack insurance policy.

I would call the police, then call your homeowners' insurance company, then take the attendant and the league to small claims court.
