Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

I made the mistake of asking someone to hold on to my motorcycle while i went on my deployment to afganastan, and i have not been able to get into contact with them in almost 2 months. what do i do? i was going to report the motorcycle stolen but i dont kow. I cant send a certified letter because he has changed addresses. We signed an agreemeent stating that he will take responsibality for the bike and will not be moving it until april 2011. What should i do next?

I suggest finding out if he still has the bike, before reporting it stolen. I suggest contacting the DMV and finding out if there has been a transfer of title to the bike.

If he took off with your bike, it's stolen.
