Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

If a Oregon resident has 2 defendants in a civil personal injury case.. the main tortfeasor in Los Angeles and another in New Hampshire, can he sue under diversity jurisdiction in Los Angeles federal court and keep jurisdiction over the New Hampshire defendant? Is there personal jurisdiction, venue, supplemental .. what? The theory is that If the New Hampshire defendant had adequately diagnosed, treated, etc., the actions of the main tortfeasor would have ceased long before they did.

You may be able to sue in federal court, but why would you when you may be better served in your state court?
