Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

I recently traded my truck that I still owe money on. We made a verbal agreement that he would pay off my loan and give me his van. It has been over a month since the trade and I haven't recieved any money. I've tried calling him and his phone is shut off. I drove by his house and he doesn't live there anymore. I do not have the money to make my payments and the bank cannot repo my truck if it is not in my possession. What should I do?

The lender can repossess your truck wherever they find it. You are not clear when you state you haven't received any money. You confuse me when you state it was a trade. A trade doesn't involve money.
