Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

small claims subpoena

I am being taken to small claims court for money owed on a broken contract. I no longer have a copy of the contract being disputed and the plaintiff has refused to send me a copy. Can I subpoena a copy of the contract and if so will the plaintiff be required to provide it before the trial date?

Re: small claims subpoena

The answer is, I think, that, yes, you can subpena the document, but contact the Small Claims Advisor.
