I am not aware of any work permit that the Canadian government can issue that would grant employment authorization in the United States.

If you want to pursue authorization under U.S. immigration law, we can help.

No, certainly it's not possible to work in the U.S. with a Canadian work permit. You would use that to work in Canada! You need to move quickly. Time is of the essence. If you don't file the labor certification before the start of the sixth year, you can't renew the H-1 after the end of the sixth year. It also takes several months to work up and take care of all the requirements before filing. Recruitment alone must be over a minimum of 60 days before filing. This is the time to act.

I used to be Dept. of Labor liaison for the LA County Bar Immigration Section and have filed thousands of labor certifications over nearly 30 years. Check me out at www.yardum-hunter.com. You may write directly to me at [email protected].
