Re: Birth certificate

Good Afternoon:

You can try to go to the agency that issues a birth certificate, or call them, to request that your birth certificate be corrected. You can also explain this to the officer if they ask. When they take your fingerprints to do a background check, you will need to tell them your correct name, and any other names you have used, including the incorrect name, so they can conduct a full background check.

Re: Birth certificate

Dear Inquirer:

You should prepare affidavits from at least two people who were present and aware of the fact of your birth to explain any discrepancy between your name used and the name on your birth certificate.

I recommend that you email me at [email protected] or visit www.hanlonlawgroup.com if you would like to schedule a consultation to discuss this matter further.

Re: Birth certificate

You may seek change of name in your Passport requesting the authorities to rectify the mistake.
