H1 to F1 visa
I am currently on H1 visa. I would like to convert to F1 visa.
I have a valid I-20 currently.
1) Can I apply for Change of Status while being in the US?
2) If the application is not approved can I continue on existing H1 visa ?
3) Do I have to leave the country to get the F1 visa ?

you should be able to change status from the h to the f. make sure to document your request carefully. i had a few cases recently and they seem to approve such conversions.
