Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

Immigrant Rights

My sister in law is an illegal alien. We've never gotten along. Although I've tried to open up my home and family to her, she's always chosen to not accept it. I saw her at the bank and I tried to talk to her and ask her why it had to be this way. After she had threatened to take my daughter back to Mexico with her, she said ''I have nothing else to say to you'' and whipped her in my face/eyes. I then pulled her down by her hair and let go. (She never touched the ground, I just pulled her pony tail a little bit)Now I've been served with a restraining order and I really don't know what is going to happen. She is illegal. Using a fake ID and Social Security card. Our court date is coming up and I don't know whether or not I should get an attorney or if it's not going to be as big of a deal as I am making it out to be. What rights does she have as an illegal alien? Can I be put in jail for pulling her hair a month ago? What will the consequences be? I've filed for a restraining order on her because she has threatened to take my daughter. Will it work if she has a restraining order on me? Will the courts eventually see that she is not a U.S. Citizen after all of this? And if so, what will happen to her?

Re: Immigrant Rights

Since this is a private lawsuit, it has no bearing on her immigration status. Were it criminal against her, then it might affect her status, maybe not.
