Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

legal entry into US

I entered into the US legally in December of 2001. However, upon arrival my passport was stolen. I made a report with BH PD, however, recently I went back and they have no record. What do I do to prove I entered the country legally? I need this to proceed with filing my papers. I know the date, time, and airline.

You can do a Freedom of Information Act request to the appropriate U.S. government agency that may have control over a copy of the data.
