Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

How long before parents can get a green card?

I'm 24 and a US citizen. I have applied to sponsor my parents' green cards. My mother received her working permit, and then had to renew it. How long does it usually take before a green card comes out?

This case should have been approved in six months from the time of filing, including interview for the green card and everything. It sounds like something might be wrong.
