Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

OPT Extension Denial

Received OPT Extension denial. Reason: Submitted I-765 for STEM Extension after OPT expiry date.

But, submitted to a wrong service center before expiry date. What are my options, status and how can I fight back? Till, when I'm not eligible to work in USA?

Re: OPT Extension Denial

This matter is complex and you should not try to do it yourself so you should get an attorney to discuss your options. If you are located in Southern California, you can email me your contact info, so we can discuss your particular situation. There is no charge for consultation.

Re: OPT Extension Denial

You should file for H-1 if your employer is willing and at the same time try to do a Motion to Reopen and Reconsider.
