Legal Question in Intellectual Property in California

Pictures on MySpace

My ex-boyfriend posted pictures of me on his MySpace page. The pictures are not offensive, but I still do not want them on his page. He probably forgot about his MySpace account since he has not used it since December 06.

I don't want pictures of me on the internet because I don't want them to show up if someone (such as an employer or potential employer) enters my name in a search engine.

What do I have to do to get him to take my pictures down? I have not asked him to because I do not want to communicate with him. Is there another way?

Thanks.

Re: Pictures on MySpace

You can have me communicate with him or with the companies that would be able to remove the content. Feel free to contact me with more details; I'm sending one of these emails today for a client in a similar situation.

Re: Pictures on MySpace

You can contact MySpace with a written demand for Take Down of the pictures on privacy grounds.

Check MySpace's terms of service and complaint procedures, and follow them very carefully. Written demand means in writing, on paper... not email. Generally it's a good idea to send via certified or registered mail.
