Legal Question in Intellectual Property in California

Question about exactly which forms I need to purchase (as per description below)

Hi, I have an internet business idea that I will need to share with various people (ie.the person building the website, the person driving traffic to the website, potential advertisers, etc.). I know that I need to be concerned with non-disclosure and non-compete. Can you tell me exactly which forms I need to purchase (including, but not limited to, non-disclosure & non-compete agreements)? Thank you so much!

Just a note... my esteemed colleagues are both correct, but you should consider that this isn't really a "do-it-yourself" situation... Non disclosure and non-compete agreements in particular are very difficult to draft in a way that a court will actually enforce.

You need a lawyer experienced in this arena.

The investment will prove well worth it.

Those as well as "for hire" contracts for your contractors and employment contracts for your employees. We have two CA admitted attorneys and can draft these for you if you wish.

My colleague is correct that an NDA and for hire contracts are a good idea.

I would add that if the website idea or concept can be tied to a particular name, then you should also consider filing an Intent-to-Use trademark or service mark application to tie up the rights to the name. If you own the trademark or service mark rights, then you can insulate yourself against theft.

If you would like assistance, please feel free to contact me off list.
