Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Apartment Company and misrepresentation of Apartment

I was shown one brand new apartment with vaulted ceilings, large patio and a different floorplan. When I signed the lease, they told me that the view was the only thing that would be different with my apartment. Unfortunately, I did not have vaulted ceilings, the floorplan is different, and hardly any patio space. The apartment basically says it was their mistake, but oops oh well. How can I get them to compensate me for giving me the wrong apartment?

Negotiate for more apartment, or less money.

If no response, retain an attorney, or take them to court for obtaining money under false pretenses, a first cousin to fraud.
