compesation for having to leave apartment?

Am I owed some compensation for having to leave my apartment because the owner is going to take down the building to rebuild a bigger complex?

If you have a lease, he cannot force you out prior to the end of the lease. If you are on a month to month rental, he can give you a 30 or 60 day notice (depending on how long you have lived there) to terminate the tenancy.
